A Session on Communication Styles with Agile Experts

Sue Johnston, author of Talk To Me: Workplace Conversations That Work, visited Rangle's offices for the May 2016 AgileTO meetup.

Johnston's session shines a spotlight on being aware of human patterns of communication that can be applied to the Agile Manifesto.

Rangle's Gillian Lee, an experienced Agile practitioner, hosted the meetup. Attendees were given the opportunity to explore four basic communication styles, determine how their style differs from others, and discover techniques to overcome those differences.

Topics Covered

  • Recognize individual differences in communication style.
  • Identify your own communication style.
  • Uncover the characteristics of each style, to identify the people you interact with.
  • Develop strategies to interact productively with people whose styles differ from your own.
